Bio
Jessica is board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center specializing in psychiatry starting in 2016, and carryies board certification in the state of Colorado.
In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she moved her practice to predominantly Telehealth. Due to patient satisfaction with this appointment method, most of her practice going forward will be virtual with in-person hours that will be available on a case-by-case basis.
As a psychiatric practitioner, Jessica thinks it’s vital to look at the “whole” person. To this end, she attempts to apply an integrative approach in her treatment and planning, which means that her recommendations and suggestions for psychiatric interventions may include traditional psychiatric pharmaceuticals, vitamins, herbs and supplements as well as referrals for therapeutic interventions.
Due to her interest in Integrative Medicine, Jessica participated in a one-year fellowship with the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in Colorado from July 2019 – June 2020 to continue to expand her knowledge base in complementary/alternative treatment approaches with leaders in the field and other like-minded practitioners. She obtained her Integrative Psychiatric provider certification in August 2020 and wants to continue this in her practice through continuing education and certifications.
Her previous work experience includes:
- APRN: Private Practice experience beginning April 2016, Outpatient Care at The Centre for Behavioral Health Porter Hospital, August 2016 – February 2019
RN: Registered Nurse at Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan, Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse at the Medical Center of Aurora and Centennial Peaks Hospital, Correctional Nurse at Adams County Detention Center.
All of her nursing experience has been obtained in Colorado.
She was born and raised in Colorado and has lived there for 35 plus years. She is married and enjoy playing video games, reading, bike riding, walking, as well as taking care of all her “furry” children.
