Bio
Angela Weeks is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is passionate about helping individuals to achieve optimal mental health and improve daily functioning. Her primary focus is working with adults 18 years and older. She believes an individual’s degree of balance and wellness is influenced by their mind, body, culture, and lifestyle. She works with individuals to explore which areas need balance restored through psychiatric evaluation, functional lab testing, genetic testing, medication management, and individual brief supportive psychotherapy.
While Angela values the use of psychiatric medications in helping to treat mental health disorders, she believes the act of participating in individual therapy and encouraging individuals to make lifestyle changes that include: limiting the use of controlled substances, eating a healthier diet, developing good sleep hygiene and exercising, are equally of value. Angela has additional training and certification in integrative psychiatry, allowing her to offer recommendations to improve overall health and possible nutraceutical options for symptom relief for individuals looking for medication alternatives. Her approach to mental health care is to allow each individual to discover the root cause of their symptoms, promoting lifelong healing and symptom relief.
Before moving to private practice, Angela was a provider for Centura Health. She has over 25 years of experience working in mental health; some of her roles here in Colorado have included: Psychiatric provider in a Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program, Psychiatric Consult Liaison for several Centura hospitals, Emergency Psychiatric Crisis Evaluator, Clinical Scholar for the University of Colorado, Regis University, and Charge RN in the Psychiatric Emergency Room. Angela values her role as a strong patient advocate, educator, and team member. She is pleased to join Alder Grove and continue to work with individuals to achieve optimal mental health and functioning.
Angela enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking, kayaking, and traveling in her free time.
